THE ISLE OF WIGHT
For the sailing enthusiast, Thorness Bay provides paneramic views accross the Solent, including the starting and finishing lines for the world renown Cowes Week sailing and powerboat races. The town of Cowes is just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away - Along an unspoilt coastal footpath that leads to the Victorian promenade.
For the walkers and hikers, Thorness Bay is on the Isle of Wight coastal footpath, and has excellent bridleway and public transport connections to the towns, beautyspots, country pubs, and places of interest. The Island even has its own annual Walking Festival! To see a list of walking routes, click here. To see a list of organised walks, click here.
Bestival and Isle of Wight Festival goers can return after a long day of partying to hot showers, comfortable beds, and home-cooked meals. So when others are emerging bleary-eye from leaky, mud-splattered tents, you'll be freshly showered and sipping your morning coffee.
